Formed while in high school, The Mary Chasers have been playing their brand of “power-pop-punk” since they were 15 and 16 years old. Formed in the early 90’s in Camden, SC, their sound has been described as, “somewhere between the Replacements and the Descendents.” During their formative years they played in support of Green Day, Lagwagon and Cowboy Mouth to name a few. On the verge of a deal with TVT Records in 1995 the band broke up leaving singer and primary song writer Jason Galloway as the only original member. In 2000, the original line up which included original bass player Patrick Ashburn, reformed to record 2001’s Simple Truth in Lies EP. After a short tour in support of the EP, the band played their last show in Colorado with the Descendents, All and a host of other awesome bands at the 2002 Stockage festival. In 2013, Patrick and Jason joined forces with ex-Tinbenders guitarist Johnny Drake and drummer Kelly Powers to reform and the sound with the second guitar is more refined and delivers a larger punch. Planning to go into the studio in the fall, the band has booked a few shows to showcase some new material and revamp some older ones.
